THE FARMHOUSE
It has been sensitively decorated with old-world charm, curated art, fine Bone China, silver, candelabra, antiques and Persian Carpets. An original, fully restored AGA stove has been installed as a feature for all socialising around the Dining Table. The Farmhouse can accommodate 8 adults and 2 kids in 5 rooms. There are 3 bathrooms, all tastefully renovated and decorated. All the rooms are luxurious without being pretentious, but with lots of linens, mohair and antiques beautiful views. The gracious veranda is perfect for outdoor entertaining and lazy, summer afternoons under the fans with glorious vistas.
This exclusive use farmhouse is perfect for families or small intimate events.

ACCOMMODATION
The house has 5 bedrooms.
The main bedroom is en-suite with a private veranda overlooking the herb garden. There is an additional annexe with twin beds, ideally for young adults or children. There is a camp cot available too.
There are two rooms inside the original historic farmhouse – cool in the summer and warm in the winter. These two rooms share a bathroom with a long, luxurious ball and claw bath.
There is another room that was recently built and boasts views of the swimming pool and Rooiberg mountains. It is en-suite and has a shower and a bath. It has French doors opening out into the garden.
There is also a quaint outdoor shower close to the pool.

An Abundance Of Things To Experience
Apart from the wonderful Klein Karoo biosphere the house is surrounded in, offering a obsoletely noise-free environment, there are a number of physical activities to do.
Cool off in the swimming pool, play a spot of badminton, croquet or boules on the verdant green lawn or take a amble around the property on one of the farm roads. For the energetic, climb one of the many hills around the property, or bring your mountain bikes and discover many of the mountain passes or rides in the area. Feeding the geese are always a treat for the little ones.
Pre-book a guided botanical walk to experience this lush succulent and fynbos wonderland with over 1200 species recorded in the region and admire the vibrant wild flowers or bring your binoculars to identify over 185 species of birds found in this region.

The night sky is brilliant and spectacular and certainly well worth enjoying by spreading blankets out on the front lawn and enjoying this spectacular show.
For winter visits, the AGA stove in the old kombuis / eetkamer comes to life to warm the entire home whilst you cook up a hearty Karoo meal for your family. The central Voorkamer (lounge) is the perfect place to enjoy one of the various board games on offer, watch TV or just nestle into the comfy couches with a good book.
The town of Calitzdorp is a mere 10 minute drive (8kms) from the farm and offers many delights from port & wine tasting at one of the many farms, to beautiful, locally made ceramics to delicious coffees and homemade pies at the scattering of quaint and pretty restaurants.
Vibrant bursts of bougainvillea and blooming roses add splashes of color to the old Victorian styled homes along the historic streets, while the surrounding vineyards provide a picturesque backdrop. The Museum is well worth a visit.
There are a number of great attractions to Calitzdorp throughout the year. From family fruit picking in season – November/December (apricots and peaches) and February (grapes).
The Red Stone Hills Mountain Bike and Trail Running event in May, the Calitzdorp Expressed Cape Ruby Festival in June, to “Art on Track” in August. For budding botanists the Succulent Festival in September is an internationally acclaimed event with over 1600 recorded species of succulents. A biodiversity hotspot!
